The Rural Brain Health Roadshow
Nurture Better Futures brings clear, practical and engaging brain health education to regional towns, Aboriginal communities, workplaces, sporting clubs, Men’s Sheds and community organisations throughout Western Australia.
Why it matters
Regional and rural communities can face barriers when seeking specialist services, health education and early support. We want to help close that gap by taking useful brain health education directly into local communities.
Learn how health, lifestyle, injury and environmental factors may affect the brain.
Build confidence recognising possible cognitive changes and knowing when to seek help.
Leave with realistic actions that support healthier brains, families and communities.
The roadshow
Our seminars are designed for general communities, Aboriginal communities, workplaces, sporting clubs, Men’s Sheds, carers, families and community organisations.
Understanding brain health, younger onset dementia, warning signs, assessment pathways and support.
Movement, nutrition, sleep, stress, hearing, social connection, cardiovascular health, head protection and other modifiable factors.
Taking education to towns across Western Australia with the help of local hosts, sponsors and partners.
Helping each participant identify realistic next steps for their own health and circumstances.
Culturally informed education
Nurture Better Futures is committed to listening and collaborating so Aboriginal brain health education is respectful, useful and locally relevant.
Kerry Morrison, Aboriginal social worker, cultural supervisor and educator, is supporting the development of this work and is happy to assist with cultural guidance and community collaboration.
